Get this error whenever attempting to install GitHub Copilot extension in VSCode Insiders.

Same Issue with latest insiders build:

chat failed to load because the installed version of the copilot chat extension is not compatible with the version of Visual Studio Code - Insiders. Please ensure that the Chat extension is up to date.

and copilot chat can't load : (version 0.29.1)

I'm using vs code 1.105.1 and suddenly yesterday I restarted vscode and started getting this error on startup. Not "Insider version". Help?

same here. This extension is using the API proposals 'chatParticipantPrivate', 'languageModelDataPart' and 'chatSessionsProvider' that are not compatible with the current version of VS Code after update vscode

Copilot hasn't been an extension for a while now, it's baked straight into VS Code itself as core functionality. If you still have the extension installed, remove it.
