Unable to type on computer when Codespace is open

I am having trouble typing after opening my Codespace. I have a Google Docs open that has some To-Do stuff for a app i'm making and when I have the Codespace open with my Google Docs I open a new tab or try and type anything anywhere I can't type anything. I have looked at my computer and all the wires are connected with a good connection, all wires are in good condition. I am wondering if this is a bug with the Codespace or if I need to contact Google Support about this.

This is a known behavior that can occur when a Codespace is open in your browser. Because Codespaces uses VS Code in the browser, it can sometimes capture keyboard focus or intercept key events, which may affect typing in other tabs or applications.

Here are a few things to try:

1. Click directly into the other tab/window (like your Google Doc) to make sure it has focus before typing.
2. Try closing the Codespace tab (not just switching away from it) and see if the issue resolves — if it does, that confirms it's the Codespace capturing input.
3. Try using Codespaces in a separate browser window rather than a separate tab in the same window.
4. Check if you have any browser extensions that might be interfering with keyboard input across tabs.

If the issue persists, it would be helpful to know:

• Which browser and operating system are you using?
• Does the issue happen in other browsers as well?

If none of the above helps, I'd recommend opening a ticket with our Support team so they can investigate further.
