This issue usually happens when the Copilot subscription and billing status are temporarily out of sync. Try the following steps:
If the issue still persists, it may be a backend billing delay. In that case only GitHub Support can fix it, so continue following up on your support ticket and include your payment receipt and ticket ID. |

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide Step 1: Force a Local Refresh in VS Code In VS Code, click on your profile icon in the bottom-left corner. Select "Sign out of GitHub account" . Fully close and restart VS Code. Sign back in through the Copilot status icon. This forces the extension to re-check your subscription status with GitHub's servers. Step 2: Check Your GitHub Account Status Navigate to https://github.com/settings/copilot. Check if it shows an active subscription or if it's still prompting you to set up a plan. Also, verify your Settings → Billing & Plans page to confirm the payment has been processed and an active subscription is listed. Step 3: Collect Diagnostic Information In VS Code, open the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows/Linux, Shift+Command+P on Mac). Type Diagnostics and select "GitHub Copilot: Collect Diagnostics" from the list. This will open a new editor with diagnostic information. Review it for any obvious errors, or be prepared to share it with support. Step 4: Follow Up on Your Support Ticket Reply to the original ticket email with "URGENT: Paid subscription not activated - Ticket #[Your Ticket Number]" in the subject line. This can sometimes bump it in the queue . Ensure you've included all relevant details: your GitHub username, the date of payment, a screenshot of the payment receipt, and the steps you've already tried. Important: While waiting, avoid creating multiple new tickets for the same issue, as this can actually delay resolution by splitting your case history . Summary: The most likely cause is a temporary billing sync issue. Force a sign-out/in within VS Code and verify your account status on https://github.com/settings/copilot. Since you've already paid and contacted support, a follow-up on your original ticket with your receipt attached is the best path forward while GitHub's support team works through their queue. |

I started the GitHub Copilot free trial which was supposed to last for one month. However, after just 5–6 days it started showing that I needed to pay charges, even though I had barely used it for 10 days. After that, Copilot access was stopped on my account. I went ahead and paid the charges, but even after the payment the option to enable Copilot still isn’t appearing for me. I have already raised a support ticket and attached the payment receipt, but I haven’t received any response yet. Has anyone faced a similar issue or knows how this can be resolved? I’d really appreciate any help.
