I started the GitHub Copilot free trial which was supposed to last for one month. However, after just 5–6 days it started showing that I needed to pay charges, even though I had barely used it for 10 days. After that, Copilot access was stopped on my account. I went ahead and paid the charges, but even after the payment the option to enable Copilot still isn’t appearing for me. I have already raised a support ticket and attached the payment receipt, but I haven’t received any response yet. Has anyone faced a similar issue or knows how this can be resolved? I’d really appreciate any help. @github
3.Basically, this is what happened to me. I started the Copilot free trial since it was supposed to last for one month, and I planned to pay after the trial period ended. However, after just 3–4 days of using it, it started showing that my payment was due and that I needed to pay to continue using the service. I created a support ticket to clarify this payment issue, but I never received any response from GitHub Support.
Since it was still within the free trial period, I didn’t worry much about the payment notification. But the next day my plan was automatically changed to Copilot Free. So I subscribed to Copilot Pro again by adding my billing details. Once again, it showed that my payment was due the next day, and the same thing happened — the following day my plan was reverted to Copilot Free. I repeated this process again, and eventually my free trial got disabled.
Today I finally paid the amount, but even after making the payment my Copilot access is still disabled.
I’ve created 3–4 support tickets, but they keep replying with the same response on each one. It doesn’t seem like they’re actually reading my messages or looking into the issue.
Here is the reply I received from them :
Hi Rohan,
Your Copilot access was restricted because our systems detected that you consumed significant Copilot usage without a successful payment being processed.
To restore your access, you will need to:
Use a valid payment method that can complete transactions without interruption (e.g., a card that does not require additional authorization steps that may fail)
Confirm that you agree to adhere to our Terms of Service
Once you've updated your payment method and confirmed the above, please let us know and we can review the possibility of reinstating your access.
Please be aware that any future instances of usage without successful payment may result in permanent revocation of your Copilot access.
Respectfully,
GitHub Support Staff
