Preliminary PR to unblock introducing code style rules as discussed in #180 (comment) (and follow-up comments).
Note: while the CS ruleset will ignore the test fixtures, I have applied some straight-forward whitespace fixes to the test fixtures as those shouldn't affect the tests.
