Hello I am a Copilot pro paying user

As of today GPT 5.1 GPT 5.1 Codex Max, Gemini 3 Flash, Opus 4.5 and GPT 5.2 models have disappeared in my Visual Studio Code

Is the same issue in Github Copilot settings I am not seeing any models past GPT 5 and also GPT 5 Codex is listed as (Preview) again for me but It used to be out of preview.

I tried everything from support that I could find log out of github and copilot log back in, update everything, reinstall etc.. they are prermanently removed for my account.

I am not sure what is going on. Any thoughts?

Thank you. Yeah is an issue. I figured is too weird that models just vanish like that.

I’ve been looking into this, and it’s definitely not just you—it seems like a widespread glitch on GitHub's backend. Since you’ve already tried all the standard troubleshooting like reinstalling and relogging, you've done your part. There’s likely nothing more you can do on your end except wait for them to patch it up. Don't waste more of your time digging through settings; the ball is in their court.

Classic 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' situation. They really managed to mess up a perfectly working system. Hopefully, they’ll get it back online soon!

Fixed for me; models appeared again. However, had to re-connect provider in OpenCode for it to work again.

In my case, I don't know if it was a coincidence, but logging out of my account and logging back in resolved the issue

Same problem with my GitHub Copilot Business Edition.
Re-logging didn't work yet.
It's confused that none of other teammates met this issue.
So depressed. :(

I just wanted to note that I saw on the GitHub status page that there were a few incidents related to model performance and model availability, and those issues seem to be resolved now.
The only thing I wanted to flag is that VS Code didn’t show the usual “Reload required” notification after these backend changes. Normally Copilot prompts us to reload the extension when there’s an update, but this time there was no message. Because of that, the model list didn’t refresh automatically for us — we had to manually restart VS Code and Toggle Plan , Ask , Agent and for the models to reappear.
Just raising this in case the missing reload prompt is something that needs to be looked into.
It would help users pick up fixes more smoothly in future.

Hi @Akash1134 Thank you even though incident has been resolved but the problem is there is no restart notification we got on VS code effect of that until we restart vs code and toggle Ask , Plan , Agent models wont come up back I feel this is the gap !

I just wanted to note that I saw on the GitHub status page that there were a few incidents related to model performance and model availability, and those issues seem to be resolved now.
The only thing I wanted to flag is that VS Code didn’t show the usual “Reload required” notification after these backend changes. Normally Copilot prompts us to reload the extension when there’s an update, but this time there was no message. Because of that, the model list didn’t refresh automatically for us — we had to manually restart VS Code and Toggle Plan , Ask , Agent and for the models to reappear.
Just raising this in case the missing reload prompt is something that needs to be looked into.
It would help users pick up fixes more smoothly in future.

I am on a free trial Copilot Pro and today all my models are missing. Yesterday everything was fine. Running on Linux.
UPDATE: after 10 min it fixed itself, without doing anything. If anyone else experience this, maybe waiting a bit helps.

Found way to get full list of agents back. But it keeps randomly wiping out after some time of work.

• got my main account logged in
• login another acc with no Pro sub on it > "manage extensions acc pref" > select it
• "manage extensions acc pref" > select main account

this way full list appears for me for some time.
hoping this will be fixed somehow soon =/ its really annoing to work this way

I am experiencing this issue as well. The models show in my Organization hierarchy (both levels) as enabled. But the VSCode still shows my "old" settings. This is after restarting and re-authing.

same here - updating models on GitHub (organization) does not affect what models are shown in VS Code (it's stuck with the old list)
No workaround works. Restarting login/logout, changing account, deleting that folder - nothing worked

I signed up today for a business plan. I enabled all models in the organization, but only GPT-4o and GPT-4.1 are available.

Tried:

• Signing in and out
• Uninstalling/reinstalling the plugin
• Deleting app data
• Uninstalling/reinstalling vscode

Now the models are available. It took 2-3 hours for changes to sync with vscode.

For me, VS Code shows Opus 4.6 but not Jetbrains IDEs such as Android Studio and Pycharm. It's also enabled. Why it shows on VS Code but not Jetbrains IDEs?

I feel like this is a bait and switch at this point:

• Blog post goes out
• Enable model in Enterprise and Org
• Some users get it
• Some users don't
• No workaround for refreshing the list.

The fact that no one is responding to this issue is a travesty.

@gogosol some premium models, including GPT-5.4, and Claude Opus and Sonnet models, will no longer be available for self-selection under the GitHub Copilot Student Plan...
