I'm getting an error when trying to use Copilot Free.

This error usually isn’t related to Copilot itself, but to an account eligibility or restriction issue on GitHub’s side.

A few things to check:

• Make sure your account email is verified
• Confirm your account isn’t restricted or flagged (new accounts sometimes are)
• If you previously had Copilot through Education or a trial, make sure it’s fully expired
• Try signing out and back in, or testing in a private/incognito window

Since the message includes a support case number (#184020), the best next step is to contact GitHub Support directly and reference that number. They can see exactly why your account isn’t eligible and fix it if possible.

Common reasons:
– Copilot Free is still being rolled out and not available to all accounts yet
– Account is newly created or has limited activity
– Account is flagged as managed (enterprise / org restriction)
– Country or age-based eligibility restrictions
– Previous Copilot trial or subscription conflicts

Things to check:

1. Go to https://github.com/settings/copilot
   – If Copilot Free is available, you’ll see an option to enable it
2. Make sure you’re logged in with a personal GitHub account (not enterprise-managed)
3. Try signing out/in and restarting the editor

Step-by-step to fix “Your account is unable to sign up for Copilot”

1. Verify your email
