Rejected school benefit applications

Hi everyone,

I applied for student benefits twice, but got rejected. I am a high school student in Turkey, I applied once with my official school letter and once with my transcript. Verified my school email with the ending .org. My school is in the list of schools to choose. I have activated two-step authentication. Still got rejected. What should I do?

I also had the problem of being rejected twice. It seems there was an issue with detecting my location and the location of the university campus. I tried a third time, and it worked without a problem.

These are all the points given: (It does not let me upload directly a pdf or a photo. I have to capture a photo in the moment, which seems to be very blurry and not readable.) (2.aspect: I am currently for Semester holiday in my hometown. The high schools in Turkey are in semester holiday between 13-22.March. I explained the situation but that reason got rejected too)

-The text in the photo you used was unable to be read. If using your device camera, make sure the image is clear and legible. For some languages, you may need to capture the original document beside an English translation.

-Please ensure that your academic affiliation document contains your last name exactly as it appears in your GitHub billing information. If you have only a single legal name, enter it in both the first and last name fields of your GitHub billing information.

-The image you selected does not appear to contain your school name. Your complete school name must appear in your document, not only the school logo. You may include multiple documents together. If your official document is not in English then you may photograph the original next to an English translation.

-Your document does not appear to include a date demonstrating current academic affiliation. For countries utilizing non-standard calendars, you may need to capture the original document beside one with a converted date. You may include multiple documents in your image, so long as they are legible.

-Please ensure that your academic affiliation document contains your first name exactly as it appears in your GitHub billing information. Variations of your name and nicknames are unacceptable.

-You appear not to be near any campus location for the school you have selected. Your academic affiliation documentation must indicate virtual learning if you are remote. You must configure your browser and operating system to allow location access. You may not use a VPN. If you believe that our information about your school is incomplete or incorrect e.g. missing campus location(s), then please select ‘My selected school has incorrect or incomplete information e.g. domains or campus location’ option when submitting a GitHub Education support ticket.

-You are unlikely to be verified until you have completed your GitHub user profile with your full name exactly as it appears in your academic affiliation document. Please do not use a variation of your name or a nickname. Once you have updated your profile information log out and log back into GitHub before re-applying

I think will not get approved until I somehow manage to upload the documents in pdf form.

From your PC you should be able to upload the photos directly. If you have the documents in another format such as PDF, you could convert them to JPEG to make the request.

I don't think that's the reason; mine also has a built-in camera. Maybe it's a regional issue.

I am also using pc but do not see any button to upload, just use the camera

What a shame it is like this, if I were you I would try to bypass that limitation in some way by pointing out a bug in the interface of the platform. Good luck, hope they fix it.
