That's not a bug. It shows day by day, but because January 1st was on Saturday, It had to start with Sunday. |

Just make it configurable. Just because the ISO thinks a week starts on Monday doesn’t mean everyone thinks the same. Most calendars I have seen start on Sunday and I have always viewed that a week started on a Sunday, and yes I’m European. Easy solution, as offered by almost every product with a calendar, make it configurable and then everyone can have it how it works best for them. |

I was searching for a setting just this morning! Only in the US do weeks start on Sunday. |

The setting - sadly - doesn't exist, I don't know why, ask Microsoft.
Be wary of making such statements without checking. Europe (well most of it, a lot of people in the UK consider that the week starts on a Sunday - even if the Government doesn't, then there is Italy too), have the week start on a Monday, the rest of the world, well that varies. Some countries the first day of the week is Saturday: http://chartsbin.com/view/41671 And you wonder why, well..
It's only been Monday since 1971, care of the ISO, but that doesn't mean it has to be, just a recommendation. Now, why there isn't a setting for it in GitHub, well, that's a GitHub issue, and here we are. |

I did not expect to not have this toggle feature already, it's 2023. I'd gladly do it for free - it's really annoying! |

Reeeeally annoying when all other calendars I use are configured with Monday as the starting day, as is customary (and veeery customary) in Spain. We also tend to favor the 24H time format, for example. Please make this a setting. |

Year 2024 has started and GitHub still doesn't have an option to start weeks on Monday. |

Hey GitHub & Microsoft, instead of forcing everyone to pay for an extra keyboard key noone asked for how about you get your localization basics right this year? It's frustrating and annoying to see you forcing bad and wrong formats down the throat of everyone! plzfix |

Well, US thinks they are the center of the world, so it fits... 😆 |

It is wider than just the calendar. It is across the site. Internationalisation is a thing, and you should use the browser's preference, thus removing any requirement for people to see the site the way someone else prefers to see it. "Organization", "favorite", "color", "center" are everywhere, and I'd like to see those words spelled as they are in Australia. A UK English option would be a good first step. |

Why this is still not a setting in 2025? |

Because GitHub doesn't care and Microsoft (who owns them) doesn't care that they don't care either. Which is really really strange. It's as if they don't want to fix it on principal just to screw with everyone. I suspect this Issue won't be fixed in my lifetime. |

In the vast majority of countries in the world (and therefore for the vast majority of developers), the day of the week begins with "Monday". But in countries like the US, the day of the week starts with "Sunday", that is, with the idea of the bible.
Github is a company that has a significant influence on developers from all over the world, the company displays a calendar where the day of the week starts with "Sunday".
To resolve an old dispute, an international organization introduced the international date and time standard ISO 8601 clause 2.2.8., where the day of the week begins with "Monday".
Why doesn't Github follow the generally accepted international standard? Not accepting international norms is building a new tower of Babel and chaos (it's just not professional).
I suggest that Github reconsider its calendar policy and number the beginning of the week according to the international standard, from Monday.
